"All of us at the Family Institute are very conscious that nothing we do could happen without the full support of the community that created us and that has sustained us across the years. The Institute looks across a wide range of issues, from problems in children, to adolescents, to aging, and any issue that arises in the family context, and then tries to take a holistic perspective of the challenges facing families today. It is really playing a leadership role and enabling us, I hope, to make the best contribution we can to Hong Kong and the wider region."

"Throughout the years, the HKUFI has developed into a world-class institute in Asia that has accumulated valuable indigenous data, conducted empirical research, and provided training of marriage and family therapists through its vigorous master degree program. We are proud that our work has received recognition, not only in Hong Kong, but in the international arena. Last, but not least, I would also like to take this opportunity to appeal for full support and generous donations from the community."

"HKUFI is more than a dream come true for our trans-disciplinary team. It represents the merging of a creative flow of energy of participating members from both the University and the community. After working abroad for many years, I can touch base with my roots and team up with other professionals at the HKUFI to pursue a better understanding of Chinese families through an integration of research, training, and practice. This exciting body of work has brought me to a new horizon of revisiting my cultural heritage, and I feel very privileged to be a part of this major endeavor."
